Resumo

This paper presents the implementation process of the MRP II – Manufacturing Resource Planning – in two Brazilian factories, and reports on difficulties in programming and controlling the shop floor in make-toorder and assembly-to-order environments. It proposes a formal architecture for a production planning and control system by using hybrid systems, including Linear Programming, Queue Theory and Kanban System. Suggestions are presented on how to improve the in-plant logistic performance considering the client service and the minimum production cost.
