A cultural journey in Taiwan:
from arrival to departure
Abstract
The report details the experience of a cultural exchange in Taiwan, highlighting the challenges and discoveries encountered throughout the period. Key challenges included cultural shock, particularly concerning the language barrier and adaptation to the local cuisine, which is characterized by a predominance of seafood and exotic dishes. Despite these difficulties, the experience also offered cultural enrichment, such as participation in traditional festivals, exploration of local gastronomy, and the formation of new friendships. Over time, there was an adaptation to the new environment and reflection on the contrasts between the tranquility of daily life in Taiwan and the natural and political challenges faced by the country. The return to Brazil was marked by an expanded cultural background, new interpersonal connections, and a profound appreciation for Taiwanese hospitality and cultural richness.
