Susceptibilidade a inundações no perímetro urbano de Cáceres-MT / Susceptibility to flooding within the city limits of Cáceres, MT

Resumo

O perímetro urbano do município de Cáceres-MT é afetado periodicamente pelas inundações do rio Paraguai, que ocupam suas planícies inundáveis naturalmente. Na área urbana é possível aferir pontos com topografia inferior ao leito do rio Paraguai que varia de 90 a 120 metros de altitude. A pesquisa objetivou caracterizar as áreas susceptíveis às inundações no perímetro urbano de Cáceres-MT, tais ocorrências têm apresentado nas últimas décadas maior ritmo de intensidade e magnitude. A área de estudo se localiza nas coordenadas geográficas 16º 08’ 42” a 16º 0’ 44”, latitude Sul e 57º 43’ 52” a 57º 37’ 22”, longitude Oeste. Para caracterizar as áreas susceptíveis as inundações, utilizou-se mapas altimétrico e de suscetibilidade de inundação, elaborados a partir das cartas topográficas DSG (1:100.000) e SRTM (resolução - 30 m). Com o material cartográfico foi possível aferir os índices de susceptibilidade a inundações. Dos 75, 238 km² mapeados, a área correspondente aos setores de baixa, média e alta susceptibilidade é equivale a 22, 792 km² (30,3%), 32, 012 km² (42,5%) e 20, 434 km² (27,2%), respectivamente. Portanto, defende-se que a temática é de fundamental relevância, pois se sabe que o ser humano no atual estágio de desenvolvimento inerente à urbanização, se vê vulnerável diante dos impactos negativos relacionados à ocupação desordenada sobre áreas impróprias as atividades humanas.

Abstract

The urban area of the city of Cáceres-MT is affected periodically by floods of the Rio Paraguay, which occupy its plains of floods. In the urban area and can measure points with the topography below the bed of the river Paraguay that ranges from 90 to 120 meters of altitude. The research aimed to characterize the areas susceptible to flooding within the city limits of Cáceres-MT, such occurrences have shown in recent decades greater pace of intensity and magnitude. The study area is located in the geographic coordinates 16º 08' 42" to 16° 0' 44", South latitude and 57º 43' 52" to 57° 37' 22" west longitude. To characterize the areas susceptible to flooding, it was used for maps and altitude of the susceptibility of flood, prepared from topographic DSG (1:100,000) and SRTM (resolution - 30 m). With the mapping material was possible to measure the levels of susceptibility to flooding. Of the 75, 238% mapped, the area corresponding to sectors of low, medium and high susceptibility is equivalent to 22, 792 km² (30.3%), 32, 012 km² (42.5%) and 20, 434 km² (27.2%), respectively. Therefore, it is argued that the issue is of fundamental importance, since it is known that the human being in the current stage of development inherent to urbanization is vulnerable to the impacts related to disordered occupation of areas unfit human activities.
