Abstract

This work brings the perception of Jaraguaenses about the leisure options in the city of Jaraguá do Sul since the beginning of social isolation. The objective is to understand leisure practices since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was developed through a quali-quantitative approach, case study procedure and semi-open structured questionnaire technique. The results show that most leisure involves the family and is practiced once a week and divided into three main activities: staying outside, going to parks and hiking. To improve mental health and quality of life, people practice activities outside the home to see other people and look for ways to escape the reality imposed by the pandemic. These had their leisure activities modified in two ways: increased care when exposed to risks and avoiding social contact whenever possible. It is concluded that, despite some adaptations, such as safety protocols and even experiencing a feeling of fear, people maintained their leisure time.
