Abstract

Objective: to verify the revascularization protocols, maximizing the knowledge of regenerative endodontics, as well as verifying the advantages, disadvantages and indications of the technique. Methodology: a quantitative descriptive study through meta-analysis of the PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases, published in the last 10 years, using the keywords and Boolean operators: Regenerative Endodontics or Guided Tissue Regeneration or Tissue Scaffolds and Clinical Protocols. Results: the search resulted in 723 articles, of which 13 were selected for the study with the aid of the PRISMA Flowchart. Fundamental aspects of regenerative endodontic treatment, its efficacy and current limitations are described. Conclusion: regenerative endodontics has a good clinical performance, allowing the progression of root development and improvement of the defense functions of the dental pulp. However, a scientific limitation is observed, requiring more clinical studies to provide a better understanding of revascularization treatments.
