About the Journal
Welcome to Abakós!
Abakós is a biannual journal of the Institute of Exact Sciences and Informatics (ICEI) of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, classified as A4 by the Unified QUALIS CAPES.
Our mission is to foment interdisciplinarity in Exact Sciences and Informatics by publishing applied and integrated research, strengthening teaching, and disseminating knowledge, in an accessible language, to a diversified audience of teachers, students and other professionals from the area and related fields. The manuscripts selected for publication must be original, in the form of tutorials, papers, communications, reviews, or summaries of dissertations, theses, or monographs contemplating discussions about informatics, science and mathematics education, or applications in engineering and social science.
Manuscripts can be in either Portuguese or English.
The authors are entirely responsible for the information contained in the manuscripts.
Peer review process
Submitted works undergo an initial evaluation according to the journal's checklist of criteria, especially those stated in the “Submission Requirements.” The suitability and consistency with the scope of Abakós, formatting and structure of the text, and use of ABNT/PUC Minas standards are also evaluated. Texts approved at this stage are sent for external peer review, according to the double-blind review system.
Open access
Abakós does not charge fees for submitting or publishing works, and is free for authors and readers.
The authors of the articles retain unrestricted copyright and publishing rights under the terms of the Creative Commons 4.0 - CC BY license.
Archiving
This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create an archival system distributed among participating libraries, allowing them to create permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration. Find out more at https://www.lockss.org/.
