Abstract

This article explores, from a transnational perspective, how Islam is mobilized through
emotional and intimate relationships. Specifically, it examines the trajectories, experiences,
and migratory practices of Muslims in Mexico, focusing on love, dating, and marriage.
By analyzing these dynamics, the study sheds light on the intersection of religion,
affective ties, and mobility. It also considers how religious identity is shaped through
transnational connections and intimate relationships, contributing to broader discussions
on transnational Islam, migration, and identity formation. By examining these personal
and social dimensions, the article provides insights into the lived experiences of Muslims
navigating faith and relationships across borders.
