INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ACTIONS UNDER ECONOMIC DIMENSION IN A COMPANY OF FRUIT SEGMENT

This study was part of a research project that was developed in a University, funded by a Research Fund, and aims to investigate how a company in the fruit industry enables their actions related to innovation and sustainability. Therefore, it try to answer the following research problem: how do the actions of innovation and sustainability occur from the perspective of the economic dimension in a business segment of fruit? This study was conducted at Fava Group, a Brazilian medium-sized business, family-owned located in Jundiaí and Miracatu, both in São Paulo. This study was exploratory in nature and use of qualitative method according to Godoy (1995). To collect the data, interviews and personal observation techniques were used, as per Vergara (2006). For this, we used a semistructured script prepared based on the theoretical framework used in the study and the interviews were recorded and later transcribed. To carry out the analysis of the data it was adopted Flores approach (1994). The results revealed that the company presents innovative actions in its production process and sustainability in three dimensions, with emphasis on the economic dimension.
