Abstract

This research aimed to describe the knowledge flows related to the administrative activities of the Sertão Campus of the Federal University of Alagoas, university campus in the city of Delmiro Gouveia - Alagoas, in the Northeast of Brazil. To this end, an exploratory-descriptive methodology with a quantitative approach was adopted. A census survey was conducted that surveyed a population of 47 civil servants using a structured online questionnaire; the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results found that the knowledge flows of the campus are mainly composed of explicit knowledge; intradepartmental flows always occur; interdepartmental flows and with higher instances, occasionally; the knowledge life cycle stands out in practices that are not based on IT; communication failures are the main barrier; the organizational climate proved to be the greatest facilitator; Socialization and Internalization
processes occur frequently; Combination and Externalization, occasionally. It was concluded that there is great potential for flows, characterized by the promising environment and engagement of the servers, but with the need for intervention in communication failures, low interdepartmental interaction and storage of knowledge.
