THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC FACTORS AND HUMAN CAPITAL ON THE BASIC EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT INDEX (IDEB)

Abstract

Analyzing quality in education is important for the conduct of public policies. Our objective was to verify if variables of an economic nature, of personal qualification of the public manager and teachers are associated with IDEB in the final year of fundamental education in Capixabas municipalities. The methodology used was quantitative research, descriptive statistics, correlation and multiple linear regression with panel data. The results show that the teacher qualification has a significant and positive statistical association with the IDEB grade in the final year of elementary education. The study is expected to contribute to the conduct of public policies, improving the quality of basic education.
