Abstract

Uber is a technology company whose main purpose is to set the world in motion. It has a global presence, operating in more than ten thousand cities in seventy-one countries around the world by 2021. Uber's rise in the last decade has given rise to a phenomenon known as uberization. This event is causing a profound transformation in the economic and social context, with implications for the contemporary work relationship. For this reason, the objective of this teaching case is to discuss and reflect on the social phenomenon of uberization and its implications for the employment relationship. It is expected to provide students with the development of critical thoughts about uberization and its impacts on the social context.
