Our aim was to understand the quality of life conditions in the work context of a Brazilian higher education institution, based on the perception of technical-administrative employees with disabilities. For this, the 20 employees with disabilities from the institution's main campus were invited to participate in semi-structured interviews, among which 11 accepted the invitation. A qualitative approach was adopted with a descriptive nature and content analysis to explore the participants' reports that, with the support of the Walton model, were divided into two axes: meaning of work and perspective of people with disabilities (PwD) on the work environment. It was found that the servers value the work performed and perceive an evolution in the process of inclusion of PwD in that university. However, they point out necessary actions to improve the quality of life at work (QWL), notably in the procedures related to admission and setting, accessibility and the very construction of a career for people with disabilities.
