Abstract

The NGO Contato is an organization focused on, among other purposes, carrying out projects and actions aimed at professional training and content generation in the audiovisual sector. This paper presents a reflection on the trajectory and institutional entrepreneurship of Contato in this field. This is an exploratory and descriptive case study, based on the assumptions of qualitative research. Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted with the institution's founders. Additionally, document analysis was carried out. The project entitled "Minas Cine" was selected to illustrate the NGO's involvement in the audiovisual sector. The data were analysed through Thematic Content Analysis and based on an interpretative approach. The results depict a solid and experienced entity that, since its foundation in the early 2000s, already had its own name, brand, and identity. Its founders, three young individuals, conceived a life project for the youth based on valuing the leadership and autonomy of this population group, as well as fostering critical and analytical thinking. The “Minas Cine Project” is a recent reference to the NGO's entrepreneurship. It's a large-scale project that covers almost all municipalities in Minas Gerais, structured around research, training, and dissemination. Through this project, a more mature and contemporary perception of the entity regarding its own role in the audiovisual field is identified, with an approach and practices that do not romanticize the training of those who wish to work in this same field within the third sector.
