CONSTRUÇÃO E VALIDAÇÃO DO INSTRUMENTO DE AVALIAÇÃO DA SAÚDE DA MULHER NA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA (AVASMAP)

Abstract

Validation study, with quantitative approach, held in Natal, Brazil, in 2016 and 2017, complying with the recommendations by the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. A multidisciplinary team of 27 judges composed the panel of experts who evaluated the items as “adequate” and “inadequate”, and 40 women were interviewed to evaluate the items as to the intelligibility and make suggestions. The Item Content Validity Index (I-CVI) was used to analyze the concordance between the judges in relation to each item, and the Content Validity Index (IVC) to assess the agreement between the judges and the instrument as a whole. It was observed that most of the items were considered adequate and presented I-CVI ≥ 0.78 and CVI = 0.84. Even so, the researchers decided to follow the judges' suggestions and thus change some of the items to facilitate understanding, preserving the semantic and contextual aspects of the instrument, from which a second version was generated. The analysis of the interviews, verbal and nonverbal responses and the suggestions of the participants contributed to the adjustments on the items and resulted in the third version of the instrument. The Women's Health Assessment Instrument in Primary Health Care presented psychometric properties of acceptable content validity and response process, which lays bare its conceptual and semantic quality, which enables its use by health professionals and researchers to assess important women's health indicators.
