Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study is to understand the historical context of occupational nursing in Brazil and the role of occupational nurses in the prevention of ergonomic risks. Method: This is a bibliographic study. A bibliographic review was carried out in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), SCIELO and LILACS databases in the period between 2010 and 2019. The analysis of the selected literary sources made it possible to group the ideas into two thematic categories, namely: 1) Nursing context work in Brazil 2) Work nurse facing ergonomic risks. Final considerations: Following the scientific premise of the study, it was sought to present the work nurse's role in the prevention of ergonomic risks, through the survey of bibliographic reviews it was possible to reach the initially proposed objective. A relevant point for the study was to understand through the literature the historical context of occupational nursing in Brazil and the importance of the occupational nurse in the face of ergonomic risks. We can highlight the importance of the role of the work nurse for the prevention, promotion, and recovery of workers, contributing to the reduction of occupational accidents.
