Abstract

This is a qualitative-descriptive field survey conducted at the municipality's basic health unit, with two employees from the vaccination room, at the participants' workplace. The information was collected through an individual questionnaire, June of 2019, after approval by the Research Ethics Committee. To collect data on HPV, it was necessary to access health information bank in the DATASUS database in the year 2017, after all the collection they researchers was submitted in content analysis results. It was observed that professionals do not know the total number of boys vaccinated in 2017, but they know where the available data are, and that the number of adolescents who completed the HPV vaccination schedule this year was unsatisfactory. In this research, it was possible to observe that professionals do not have full knowledge about the sources of health information, in addition it was identified that professionals have the perception of the need in basic and technological investments to propagate knowledge, information and awareness, but sometimes it is not possible to invest as it should be, and it shows the need to invest more in this area, not only at the municipal level, but at the three levels of government.
