Abstract

Aging is marked by several biopsychosocial changes and the way it will be lived is related to the individual's experiences and lifestyle. Access to social and health services can be an impasse to achieve healthy aging, especially in minorities such as transvestites and transsexuals, who have a life expectancy of 35 years, so there was a need to raise main Nursing Problems in this population under the view of Wanda Horta. The qualitative descriptive method used, based on the interpretation of scientific articles, printed literature, data from the Ministry of Health of Brazil and a survey of Basic Human Needs and Nursing Problems. The Theory of Basic Human Needs proved to be a complete tool with regard to the individual's holistic assessment, favoring the identification of recurrent problems in the studied population. It is expected that with this study, nursing develops models of primary care and learn about the particularities of this population, favoring the possibility of reaching aging and having a dignified life.
