Abstract

To analyze the knowledge and feelings of the elderly person about sexuality. It is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, based on the assumptions of action research. The research was carried out with 10 elderly people from Habitacional Cidade Madura Condominium, in the municipality of Cajazeiras, Paraíba, between the months of November 2017 and January 2018, after approval by the Research Ethics Committee. The Collective Subject Discourse was used to organize and analyze the results. From the statements of the participants in this study, the following categories emerged: the superficiality of the elderly about what sexuality is, the association of sexuality with the sexual act, sexuality and the feelings aroused. It can be seen that society still has a limited view and full of prejudices, developing significant resistance when thinking about welcoming the elderly as a being capable of developing their sexuality.
