Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results achieved at Previne Brasil with the population coverage estimated by the Family Health Strategy teams in the municipalities of Santa Catarina. Methodology: Observational and ecological study, carried out in the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Data collection took place on 1/8/2021. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were performed, using measures of absolute and relative frequency, and presented in a table. The data were organized by the population of the municipalities, considering that the population number brings with it organizational, administrative and even health similarities. All ethical aspects in research with human beings (CEP) were respected, according to Resolution 466/2012 and 510/2016 of the National Health Council (CNS), which advises that research using information in the public domain will not need to be submitted the CEP / CONEP system. Results: The present study showed that the municipalities that showed better compliance with the indicators were those that had coverage of 100% of FHS and a population of up to 50 thousand inhabitants. It should be noted that five municipalities with a population over 100,000 inhabitants managed to reach from one to three indicators, and the FHS coverage ranged from 40.77% to 89.24%. Conclusion: The evaluation carried out shows the importance of FHS coverage for the reach of the Previne Brasil Program, but it is not enough in the municipalities with the largest population.
