Abstract

The research seeks to analyze the performance of criminal organizations, known as mafias. This is a topic of great relevance to society, as these well-structured groups with a monopoly on violence, even if illegally and through their own rules, end up influencing and interfering in political and security issues. The general objective of the work is to carry out a comparative analysis between the Japanese and Italian mafias, since the 1990s, regarding their relationship with the State and its anti-mafia policies, evaluating their differences, similarities, and singularities. To carry out the research, first, the study of the basic elements fundamental to the understanding of the theme was carried out, using the documentary and bibliographic method for this purpose, based on national and international literature.
