Divide et Impera: uma análise sobre a colonização da África e suas consequências

Abstract

The colonization of Africa had profound impacts on colonized populations. Furthermore, it was a crucial element in the constitution of African states in the post-colonization period. With this in mind, the article aims to analyze how it happened and what were the impacts of colonization in Africa. Through a bibliographical review of primary and secondary sources, I argue that colonization was instituted through both the imposition of a thought structure based on the hierarchy of populations based on racial precepts, and the interest in the exploitation of resources through the domain of the territories. Furthermore, I conclude that colonization delimited the conditions of possibility of African states in the post-colonization period in their forms of political and social organization.
