Abstract

Abstract

The text recounts a one-month journey in Morocco, written as a travel diary. The experience was more than a simple trip; it was a deep immersion into a culture and semi-arid environment that shaped the author's perceptions of freedom, simplicity, and communion. By exploring different cities, communities, and deserts, the main objective was to volunteer in a sustainable project in a village near Tagounite, aiming to intensify immersion in Moroccan customs.

The challenges were numerous, the main one being adaptation to the extreme semi-arid climate—very hot and dry—as well as cultural differences and language barriers. The resilience of the people who inhabit this region, the human touch, the colors, and Moroccan hospitality revealed the beauty in small things, while community work provided a greater sense of belonging.

In the narrative, there are reflections on isolation in an extreme environment and the slow pace of life, questioning modern vices that distance us from the real. By exploring untouched landscapes and sharing simple meals, the author develops a new appreciation for essential things. The narrative invites the reader to reflect on life's simplicity, the importance of human connections, and the need to slow down to truly experience the world around us.
