Patrimonialização de uma ruina: análise do caso Capela de Nossa Senhora do Rosário localizada em Santo Antônio do Pirapetinga em Piranga- MG

Abstract

Over the years, cultural heritage has become the subject of several discussions, especially when it comes to the protection of some asset considered important for a particular social group. The listing appears as a tool to ensure this protection and prevent this property from disappearing, this method of patrimonializing is based on several laws, laws that can become a large bureaucracy involving long processes until there is a decision, many of these processes they are completed when the good no longer exists, or limits actions on it. With this in mind, the aim of this article is to show how this bureaucracy counteracts the demands of the local population and how protection policies deal with racial relations that cross cultural heritage. To better exemplify, the case of the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário located in Santo Antônio do Pirapetinga in Piranga MG was analyzed. From a methodological point of view, this is a bibliographical review about the concepts that involve the theme, demonstrating how protection is provided and the laws that involve it, in addition, researches carried out on the chapel and the local population were analyzed.
