Abstract

We know the importance of literature in people's lives. The child's contact with literature should happen early, even before the child's entry into school and should be seen as a pleasurable moment, as it has a significant role in the child's relationships with the real and imaginary world. Thus, it should be considered that contact with the literary work has an impact on the child's learning and development process. Following this idea, this study aims to understand the importance of children's literature and how it should be worked as a pedagogical practice. The use of literature as a practice has repercussions on interactions inside and outside the classroom in the context of early childhood education. Then we seek to verify how the educator enables his teaching practice with the literature. It is through this literature that reading is improved, making it possible to transform the child into a thinking reader, able to stand out as a citizen, seeing his reality in society, thus transforming his future.
