Abstract

This guide was created in order to encourage the use of the movie “UP – High Adventures” as a didactic resources for teaching Nature and Society in Early Childhood Education. The film in question is an animation that tells the story of Carl and Russell who, unreasonably, leave together in search of a beautiful place called Paraíso das Cachoeiras. What the characters don’t even imagine is that the adventure will change their lives considerably. The plot arouses different and relevant reflections about the way of life in our society. Among these varied possibilities for discussion, we highlight here the care for others and the environment, as we understand it to be a very important topic to be discussed with children of all ages, especially those in Early Childhood Education. Through this theme and the activities proposed here, we also seek to encourage children to feel encouraged to develop the ability to express themselves orally, exercise thinking, socialize and, in this way, build meaningful knowledge.
