Abstract

This report presents an experience of a university extension project entitled “Learning how to
read and write by adults with intellectual disabilities” that has been working in the remote
system due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. It reports on four activities that,
anchored in the literacy and aspects of Ferreiro (2000), Freire (1989) and Soares (2004),
worked on the literacy processes addressing the Covid-19 theme so that, students to develop
their critical thinking on the subject. It is also exposed how the experience of virtual meetings
has been important for students and monitors in these pandemic times.
