Abstract

This paper is a proposal on how to approach the theme of quilombola communities in school
education, specially among elementary and high school students. The strategy presented is to
elaborate Comic Stories (HQ) as a way to build narratives and stories about the Quilombola
Communities. The work with HQ was developed in the discipline of Common Curricular
Integration Workshop: Participatory Methodologies, as a proposal for creative presentation.
During the research process on the subject it is possible to observe and understand real data
related to quilombola peoples and their various struggles over time and that persist to the
present day. Symbol of resistance, an example for all who know their stories better,
quilombola communities are present and living next to us " and often still invisible.
