Abstract

This report seeks to analyze in a descriptive way the aspects addressed in clown training workshops, which are crucial for the training and performance of a hospital clown, bringing the experience of the PUC Dá Alegria Project in the training of extension workers. This experience report of the clown training workshops in the Project was based on research in databases, case reports and relevant books in the area. The clown in the hospital environment must know how to deal with numerous situations that address the psychological and social aspect of a patient. The way of behaving, the way of achieving laughter, the acting process and the transition between comic paradoxes are items to be explored. Training in clowning provides a means of improving the clown actor's imagination and behavior towards patients. Therefore, the need for volunteers and other participants to participate in workshops is reinforced, for a better exchange of learning and experiences, which configure the clown's identity.
