Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand how representations of black women are constructed in Vogue Brasil. To this end, fashion editorials where black women are protagonists are analysed. They add up to only three out of the nine chosen editions, from 2010 to 2018, one of each year. Through the method of content analysis, it’s verified that it, in such magazine, the black woman is still portrayed by means of the studied stereotypes, mainly the sexualization one.
