Abstract

The work critically analyzes the production of science-fiction cinema in Hollywood in the 1950s, based on the study of some films that, in that period, were representative of the genre. Through this analysis, it is possible to highlight the broader characteristics of the genre in that period, and how the technology present in the films was used to reflect the mentality of the Cold War era, emphasizing the fears present in the society of the United States at that moment.
