Prepositions: semantic and syntactic relations in comics and joke genres

This article intends to analyze the semantic and syntatic conceptions that the prepositions “de, em, a and para” stablish in the enunciation. For that, we use as a source of a theoretical basis , regarding the treatment given to the preposition in different grammars, "the authors" Ferreira (2014), Bechara (2009) and Cegalla (2015). Furthermore, regarding the category to which the preposition belongs, as well as its attributions, the study anchors in the studies of Berg (1998) and Neves (2000). In addition, it is intended to identify how and to what extent people perceive the relations of meaning caused by the use of prepositions in textual genres, comics and jokes. To that purpose, a questionary was applied on groups of people with different age and educational levels. Based on the analyzed materials, the main results suggest that people, in general, understand the effect of humor causes, however, they are unable to associate it with the use of the chosen preposition. The study also pointed that prepositions, when associated with other grammatical classes, are essential to indicate different relations of meaning.
