The development of students’ moral conscience

Abstract

The objective of the research is to investigate the pertinence of the development of a moral conscience in the students within the school space. The understanding here is that this development should start in the first grades with children. The research investigated the possibility and the importance of developing a moral conscience and if it should occur in the school environment. The research is opposed to the innate conceptions of morality and those conceptions that attribute exclusivity to the family environment in the formation of moral conscience. We understand that the possibility of measurement allows us to speak about the progressive development of moral conscience. The theoretical framework of the research is the theory of Jean Piaget (1896-1980).
