Techniques used to detect plagiarism

When submitted to the VirtuaJus journal, the articles undergo a pre-evaluation, in which techniques capable of detecting the presence of plagiarism in the body of the text are used.

The techniques used are:

  • Citation Plagiarism Detection: Documents that have plagiarized citations of works are likely to have significant citations overlapping with their sources. This method works even if the document is completely rewritten (and only the idea has been plagiarized), and it can also detect translated plagiarism.
  • Search engine: The Google search engine is used, in which a significant excerpt is extracted from the article and pasted into the search engine in order to check whether there is identical text in other documents.
  • Automatic tools: VirtuaJus magazine editors also have the following automatic plagiarism detection tools:
