Cadernos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (ISSN 1413-2095 and 2316-1752) is a technical-scientific journal produced by the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais - PUC Minas, under the editorial coordination of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism, part of the Institute of Social Sciences. Its first issue was published in August 1994, and since then, Cadernos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo has had a solid institutional structure to ensure its quality and autonomy as a scientific journal. Today, it is categorized as B1 by the CAPES Sucupira Brazilian national system for academic evaluation. Since its foundation, articles, book reviews, interviews, and sketches impacting the expanded field of research on space production have been published.

The selection of works follows a rigorous process at no cost to the authors, which involves continuous submission of works and also thematic dossier calls, blind evaluation by at least two peer-reviewers, article revision, feedback to authors, normalization and language editing, and final verification by the authors. The Scientific Editorial Board consists of members with recognized contributions to the field of Architecture and Urbanism, and the Reviewers' Board is composed of masters and doctors from various national and foreign institutions.

The distribution of printed copies of the Cadernos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo is handled by the PUC Minas Library, ensuring its presence in 135 institutions, 31 of which are abroad. Currently, digital publications are certified with a DOI number, and access is free to readers worldwide via the Internet. The publications are indexed in the ICAP Database (Shared Indexing of Journal Articles), available in National System Libraries (IBICT), and on the Oasisbr portal.
