Abstract

Aging is a process that occurs naturally and gradually being able to promote limitations and modifications in the functioning of the body, which can lead to the manifestation of diseases. Given this, this article aimed to conduct a literature review on the dental health of the elderly. The aging process is not always makes associated with overall health, the functional changes involve a greater predisposition to the emergence of chronic diseases. The context of oral health is related not only to the health aspects of the oral cavity, also involves more general social and cultural health of the elderly.
