A tradição grega em Simone de Beauvoir, Le deuxième sexe
Abstract
A reflexão sobre a mulher, como o outro da cultura, foi proposta especialmente por Simone de Beauvoir ainda no final dos anos 40. A metodologia utilizada ultrapassa em seu texto o caráter teórico e especulativo e se volta para a prossecução da isonomia entre os gêneros. Entretanto, o que aqui se analisa é a bem mais a forma como Simone de Beauvoir percorre um vasto conjunto de matérias e testemunhos, que, na sua diversidade e policromia, se fundem na motivação que os coordena: o que pensavam os Gregos sobre a mulher? Ciência e filosofia, mito, literatura, religião e direito são os campos nos quais a autora francesa vai essencialmente colher os elementos que utiliza.
