Abstract

A problemática da preeminência do intelecto sobre a vontade se evidencia em maior proporção entre os escolásticos, de forma especial em Tomás de Aquino. Os estudos relacionados à relação entre intelecto e vontade na Idade Média, são inspirados em Aristóteles, nas suas mais variadas obras introduzidas no cenário medieval especialmente a partir do século XII. Haja visto que a questão da superioridade do intelecto possui fortes ligações com a filosofia do clássico Estagirita, tendo como exemplo a abstração das realidades exteriores, partindo das informações que os objetos manifestam a nós até a finalização do processo cognitivo.
