O presente artigo pretende, na perspectiva da ciência política e filosofia, propor algumas reflexões sobre os temas da liberdade, democracia e negacionismo. Tendo como referência a realidade atual política, social e econômica brasileira, o objetivo é indicar de que modo a crise da democracia atual no Brasil, com a propagação de ódios, violências e fake news, pode deteriorar os horizontes da liberdade e soberania popular, temas estes importantes na construção de um país que avance nos paradigmas civilizatórios e de construção do bem comum para o conjunto da população brasileira. Por meio da mobilização da teoria e alguns exemplos do contexto brasileiro, pretende-se indicar que a liberdade deve nos encaminhar para o aprofundamento democrático participativo, paritário e plural e não para o autoritarismo.
