Em nosso presente momento, em que uma grande pandemia assola o mundo, é preciso que estejamos atentos às contribuições que a Filosofia pode dar à área da saúde, assim como as diversas áreas da saúde podem dar à Filosofia. É fato bastante conhecido que a Filosofia desde o seu início se debruçou sobre diversos temas, inclusive o tema da saúde, a partir da própria compreensão da natureza. O ser humano como ser-lançado-no-mundo (para usarmos a expressão de Heidegger) sempre se colocou diante da natureza com uma atitude ambivalente. Por um lado uma atitude de temor, espanto, e por outro lado com uma atitude de admiração e dependência. Esse caráter ambivalente da relação do homem com o mundo vai desenvolver-se em reflexões que ora destacarão o primeiro sentimento, ora destacarão o segundo sentimento.
