This article presents the anthology Poesia na Escola, organized by Alaíde Lisboa de Oliveira, and published in 1966 by Editora Bernardo Álvares. The aim is to present the pedagogue's conceptions about literature, reading, the teaching of literary reading, childhood, and the formation of readers. To this end, a presentation of the ideas present in the paratexts of the edition and comments on poems selected for the composition of the anthology are made. During the presentation, an analytical reading of the teacher's position is developed and her conceptions are articulated with recent ideas about teaching literature, specifically about poetry at school.
