Abstract

The proposed article aims to understand the effects of meaning and identify discursive formations that regulate the speech of pastor André Valadão, leader of the Lagoinha Baptist Church, given in July 2023, about the LGBTQIAPN+ movement. The speech achieved great notoriety in the national and international press also because it was given after the month that is internationally dedicated to LGBTQIAPN+ pride celebrations. Therefore, this article proposes to reflect on how the meaning effects of this discourse reflect certain ideologies, echoing and crossing different spaces. The study then aims to answer the following question: What discursive formations bring together the speech given by the religious leader about the LGBTQIAPN+ community? Based on this question, authors such as Althusser (1998), Orlandi (2005) and Pêcheux (2014) will be evoked, to understand how ideologies are biased by power structures based on language.

Mestre em Comunicação Social pela PUC Minas na linha de pesquisa: Mediação, Imagens e Narrativas (2021). Graduação em Comunicação Social com habilitação em Jornalismo pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (2016). Tem experiência na área de Comunicação, com ênfase em Jornalismo, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: memória, jornalismo digital, imagens e jornalismo cultural.
