ESPAÇADOR ESTÁTICO REFORÇADO PARA INFECÇÃO ARTICULAR PERIPROTÉTICA DO JOELHO:
técnica cirúrgica e revisão da literatura

Os espaçadores de cimento para tratar infecção articular periprotética do joelho são classificados como estáticos ou móveis e são usados em procedimentos de duas etapas. Um espaçador estático de joelho tem sido usado para fornecer altas doses de antibióticos localmente, minimizar contraturas dos ligamentos colaterais e preservar o espaço articular para uma futura reimplantação da prótese. Este artigo apresenta uma técnica simples para fazer um espaçador estático que pode ser usado em procedimentos de duas etapas para infecção articular periprotética do joelho com perda óssea maciça. Espaçadores de cimento grandes são instáveis e podem quebrar ou deslocar-se. O espaçador estático reforçado com metal é uma ferramenta simples, eficiente e econômica para preservação de tecidos, a ser usada quando cirurgiões enfrentam grandes defeitos nesta complicação.
