Working with religion through reflection: extensionist actions of the philosophy course at APAC de Santa Luzia

Abstract

The Association of Protection and Assistance to the Condemned (APAC) emerges as an innovative method in the face of the crisis of the common penitentiary system, in which the recovering (trapped by the conventional system) is living in a routine, which will later help him reinsert in society, and in his free time is released to do various activities that will contribute to his training as a human being. The success of APACS can be made possible according to data from the National Justice Council (CNJ), which shows that only 15% of people who pass through the system become repeat offenders.  One of the activities that is carried out in the APAC, and it helps deeply in the transformation of the recovering is the religion, it provides a moment of living faith, a reunion of the man with his dignity, the knowledge of the truth that liberates him, and that from this does with which he wants to rebuild his self and his social life. Given the great  changes  that  the APAC  method  provides  to  society,  we  will  investigate  what  the APAC method is, how the

encounter of man with religion within the system occurs, how faith fosters recovery by regaining its dignity, and whether to reinsert socially, and a brief account of some recovering that demonstrate how religion and reflection helps you in a way of living and seeing life better.
