Law and social networks: the advent of cyberbullying and the violation of fundamental rights by teenagers

Abstract

This article aims to analyze to what extent the advance of cyberbullying  has contributed to the violation of fundamental rights through adolescents, identifies the elements that characterize the concept of cyberbullying; it presents a historical evolution of that aggressive act. The definition of fundamental rights is explicated  under a civil-constitutional bias. This research also demonstrates the role played  by teenagers in the practice of cyberbullying. It points out the biopsychic and legal consequences for both aggressors and victims, discusses the results obtained with the extension practice aimed at spreading awareness and  prevention of cyberbullying. It is concluded that society in general, as well as the family and the school must create guidelines to curb the practice of cyberbullying. The methodology used to investigate the subject, a priori, was a bibliographic review and later was made a technical visit to the student nucleus of the Antônio Augusto Ribeiro State School, in the municipality of Betim / MG, where the extension activity took place.
