The Nursing at the training of docents from State School about pediculosis

Abstract

This review reports the importance of the Nurses’ action as educators about pediculosis at a Belo Horizonte infantile state school, focusing on the institution’s docents. It discourses about the experience of Nursing academics that developed a health intervention project , in Extension Practices class, to qualify the knowledge of teachers,pedagogues and students from the chosen school, about pediculosis. It discussed themes about pediculosis prophylaxis, identification and the correct way to deal with it. The urgency on Nursing intervention came through the school itself, which notified the academics about a pediculosis’ crisis among the children from the institution. The theory used was the Florence Nightingale Environmentalist Theory. After determining the theme, the academics developed a game to educate the infantile students about the pediculosis. When the action started, a shortage of knowledge from the docents about the theme was noticed, and that interfered directly with the eradication of the disease. So, the action was redirected to qualify the docents, and the game embraced the docents as well, then at the end of the extension action the majority showed to be able to handle the problem by themselves.
