Abstract

Este artigo discute o impacto dos atentados terroristas de setembro de 2001 e da subsequente invasão do Iraque na Política de Segurança e Defesa da União Europeia no período 2001-2010. Analisa-se como tais eventos alteraram a integração do bloco em matéria de segurança e de que forma a resposta norte-americana dada aos atentados causou uma cisão e divergência entre os países europeus que preferiram atuar de forma isolada.
