O caso Itaipu: estratégias e legitimação nas relações Brasil - Paraguai

Este trabalho analisa a disputa entre Brasil e Paraguai pela divisão das receitas da usina binacionalde Itaipu, entre os anos de 2003 e 2010. A tese aqui defendida é de que as açõesadotadas pelo Brasil resultam de uma conjuntura em que as assimetrias que historicamentecaracterizam as relações intra-regionais do Brasil com seus vizinhos são temperadas, atualmente,por um crescente e relevante contexto de interdependência (KEOHANE e NYE,2001, p. 25). Nesse cenário, a atitude brasileira será pautada pela necessidade de ações quelegitimem a sua presença hegemônica na região, tendo em vista que eventuais atitudes de resistência,mesmo que tomadas por um país com menor poder relativo, poderiam afetar oavanço dos interesses brasileiros na região.Downloads
