Abstract

Since the beginning of the 21st century, due to the transformations of the capitalist world system, it is noted that Latin America is intertwined in the face of the interests of accumulation of power and wealth of the United States (USA) and China. As a result of these systemic disputes in the region, the objective of this work is to analyze the performance of the new “US International Development Finance Corporation” (DFC) or “US International Development Finance Corporation” (our translation) in Latin America. Latin. In addition, this article intends to carry out a survey on its performance, its main axes of action and established guidelines. Throughout the work, the concept of hegemony is used to guide the understanding of relations between the USA and Latin America, as well as to understand the meaning of the use of the DFC in North American policy for the region.

Mestranda em Relações Internacionais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais. Bacharela em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro com mobilidade acadêmica na Universidade do Porto pelo Bolsa Santander Universidades. Atuou como assistente de pesquisa do Observatório dos Países de Língua Oficial Portuguesa (OPLOP) e como pesquisadora PIBIC\CNPq do projeto "Bolivarianismo e Luta Hegemônica no Brasil".Possui interesses nas áreas de Economia Política Internacional e Segurança Internacional, atuando nos seguintes temas: Teoria Crítica, Operações de Paz , desenvolvimento e desigualdades internacionais. Atualmente é monitora do Grupo de Pesquisa Relações Internacionais do Atlântico Sul (GAS) e membro do corpo editorial das revistas Estudos Internacionais e Conjuntura Internacional do Departamento de Relações Internacionais da PUC Minas.
