Abstract

This study sought to analyze the organizational values ​​and the work values ​​in the perception of young apprentices from two regions of the city of São Paulo (SP, Brazil): a neighborhood in the Center (central region) and another in Sumaré (east/south region). For the development of this study, 766 questionnaires were collected, specifically 361 in the first region and 405 in the second, whose data were submitted to univariate and bivariate statistical analysis. The results showed that respondents from both locations show certain similarities and distinctions in terms of shared values ​​in the organizational and work spheres, with emphasis on the highest scores related to Achievement (at both levels of analysis) and Stability (at the level of Work ); on the other hand, the highest scores for organizational values ​​indicate their greater proximity to the organization where they work than to the activities they perform. In addition, 129 of the 132 correlation tests performed were found to be significant and positive, concluding that the more the young person responds positively to a value, the greater the tendency to behave in the same way in relation to the others. In view of the findings, limitations and contributions of the study, a research agenda was suggested.
