DALILA AND DANDARA’ APPLICATION FOR A LECTURER RECRUITMENT

This teaching case reports a real situation of a young woman and her candidacy in a process of recruiting and selecting (R&S) employees to work as a lecturer in a professionalizing education institution. The problem situation raises current debates, in the scope of management, on practices of Human Resources (HR), People and Management (P&M) and Organizational Behavior (OB) narrating the cases of Dalila and Dandara, young and black women, in a process selective hiring of teachers. The situation aims to assist important reflections on problems related to the management of difference and diversity in organizations, as well as hiring policies, entry into the job market and crisis management. In addition, it establishes, in an environment conducive to dialogue and dialogicity, such as the classroom, the problematization of issues that deeply influence ethical and moral issues in companies. This situation allows students to examine HR policies and practices, as well as assess the impact of judging social networks on business.
